Reports
It started snowing the very moment we started walking and ended when we finished. We got about 4 inches with temperatures down to 10 degrees (F) and some wind.
All of us walked the 50k, swam 1k and went down the superslide 6 times - kinda triathlon ...
It was a very strong team and we had a lot of fun.

I had the opportunity to participate in another class act hosted by two very classy people last Saturday. The event was called the "Walk 50 - Swim 1" the two classy people were Ulli and Traudl Kamm. Ulli planned the route and Traudl provided both aid and a smiling face!
The
walk consisted of three loops, each starting and finishing at a recreation
center. Half way through each loop we stopped at either a Starbucks or a
pizza place. Upon the completion of the first loop we all
swam 1k and then took 6 trips down the water slide.
Snow
started falling on the first loop and continued all day. About 4"
fell which actually made the walking a little easier on the feet. A brisk
wind came from the northeast reminding us that winter is really here. We
were all well prepared for the weather and were able to manage about 4 mph
walking despite the conditions.
Be
sure to monitor http://www.ultrawalk.com
for Ulli's next event!

Ulli came up with the great idea of how to welcome in winter by doing a 50Km walk in a snow blizzard. This was my first walk organized by Ulli and he really knows how to have a good time!! Special thanks to both Ulli and Traudl for putting this event together with special thanks to Traudl, who took good care of us with aid and special encouragement at the rest stops.
The
walk was on a very nice trail through
We started off on Saturday with nice dry weather but changed after our first loop to snow. Then during our 1 km swim and sliding (yeah, 6 times down the slide-required to finish !!!) we came out to about 1-2 inches of snow and it was quite intense as we started our second loop. The weather did not stop us. We finished second and third loop, lunch and coffee and had a great time walking, talking (by the way it is hard to talk when snowing). We all enjoyed the first big snow storm this year and I am looking forward to the next event. Thank you Ulli for making these events possible.

First I'd like to thank Ulli for putting on a fun run that really fit the description. I enjoyed the camaraderie, the stories and the cold. Who could argue about swimming in the middle of a 50k w/ a ultrawalk legend in a speedo? Looking forward to the next outing.
