Map

Event Format

o       50 km (31 mi) fast-hike on mostly single-track trails. Scenic through Chatfield State Park, South Platte Park, Arboretum and Hildebrand Ranch Park

o One big loop

o       Briefing, Start and Finish are at Panera at Aspen Grove

o       Walking together as a group – talking, joking, encouraging, …

o       Walking speed: 4 mi/hr. (15 min./mi)

o       No fee, no awards, no whining

o       You pay at Panera and Dazbog - no aid stations at both places.

o You may bring one small  drop-bag for aid stations. Drop-bag not available at Dazbog

o The event will happen in all weathers (be prepared - we may have heavy wind, pouring rain, extreme cold, deep snow and sheer ice)

o With rain, wet or melting snow and mud (plus maybe water in tunnel), it is possible we will get wet feet (bring more socks and shoes). 

o       Course and schedule may change before and/or during the event, subject to weather, construction etc.

11:35 – 11:50 a.m.  Bridge Aid Station

1:10 – 1:50 p.m. Dazbog Coffee

3:00 – 3:10 p.m.     Bridge Aid Station
4.3 mi  
4:40 – 4:50 p.m.  Beach Aid Station
5.0 mi  
6:15 p.m.  Finish

Equipment

o       Running/walking shoes

o       Drinking bottle

o       Rain/wind/cold gear, gloves, hat etc.

o       Flashlight for tunnel and last miles

o       Money (for Panera and Dazbog)

o       ID

o       Cell phone to be able to call for transport back in case you need to DNF

o      Not enough to dress to keep warm and stay dry is a reason for DQ

 

Entry

o     Mandatory: Contact Event Directors (email: ultrawalk@mindspring.com or phone: 303-464-2889)

o      NO race day entry

o      Mandatory: "Entry Form & Waiver" filled, signed and given to Event Directors before start

 

Others

o     No political and religious discussions. We want to start as friends and finish as friends

o     Someone falling too far behind (out of sight) is not a participant in the event anymore

o     Event Directors Ulli and Traudl have final decision
