Aid Stations
Traudl will try to provide everything participants may want.
We will have at least:
Drinks: Tea, coffee, Coke, , Gatorade, juice, water
Food: Soup, some warm food, cheese/turkey/peanut butter/jelly-sandwiches, pretzels, cookies, cake
Please let us know before the start if you have special needs.
The "Montezuma Inn" in Montezuma will be open just for us. We will give them $10 per participant. Crews please pay.
In Empire we will be at Jenny's Restaurant. Whatever you need a few miles before the finish - take it, we'll pay for it.
Before you get to an aid station think about what you want to do/take/change there.
An aid station may be missing. Mudslides, etc. may make it impossible to get there for Traudl and the crews. Be prepared to walk on.
Carl will try to provide additional aid stations in remote areas - depending on accessibility. Don't count on it - just be happy and thankful whenever he can meet us.
Take enough to dress for the next section. The weather may change or it's getting dark (flashlights!) before we reach another aid station.
Because of severe weather resulting in course changes, as well as for other reasons, the location of aid stations may change.
Crews
Crews are mandatory.
Crews have to bring their own food/drinks.
Crews will have the drop bags of "their" participant.
Not accessible by passenger cars (without 4-wheel drive): Jones Pass aid station (with a strong car it's reachable) and Bobtail aid station. A crew without a 4-wheel drive vehicle may get there (the last miles) by going with someone else.
Crews may join the team on the last day (Alice - James Peak - Alice - Finish) for sections of the course.
Please consider that conditions and accessibility may change due to weather, etc.!
Blue = Passenger Car
Red 1 = 4 Wheel Drive - easy
Red 2 = 4 Wheel Drive - difficult
