Ulli,
Foremost,
congratulations to you, Glen and Debbie for persevering and breaking the EME
record. You have a lot to feel accomplished over. Even without the record, it
was a very successful event. I'm so pleased that the media worked out so well
for this event.
As always it was a treat to see you and Traudl again and share this unique
experience. It was a pleasure to have Traudl actually walk with us. I hope our paths continue to cross in the future.

As we discussed EME is a very young undertaking (won't call it an organization
yet). You brought a lot of structure to this event which will benefit EME
tremendously.
The format of just moving and not having a goal of "X" miles or to see
how far you can go in "X" hours is a significant transition for an
ultra person (less of an issue for Joe and Jane Public). In the future, this
should be written up and described more clear and the explanation targeted
specifically to ultrarunners so they can prepare mentally for the event.
Excellent to be able to stop in at our hotel room each lap. Just having a nice
toilet alone was worth it. Though having all the amenities of microwave,
refrigerator and the air conditioning was extremely helpful. I actually never
laid down on the bed being concerned about dropping off with no one around. I
did sit with my feet up over the air conditioning which was heaven.

dear
ulli,
congratulations on a very excellent performance and on breaking the world
record. i am proud to have been part of the race and in the "final
five". i hoped to come back and walk more with you but had several family
obligations which kept me away.
as
for my feedback:
1)What i liked most: the challenge of not having a finish line or time
2)What i liked least: the repetitive loops. perhaps would have been better
to change directions or to do a series of different loops with different
surfaces and surroundings.
I felt a bit awkward wearing the orange vests. i don't
generally like to attract a lot of attention.
3)what i would do differently: have awards for male/female and age group
for times (24, 36, 48 hr, etc)
are you going to las vegas???
Please give my thanks and gratitude to traudl for her continued enthusiasm and
support. I missed her aid stations and sandwiches!

Hi Alexander,
I want to thank you again for the opportunity that you gave me by creating this event. I may even be interested in participating in one or both of the German events. My recovery is happening much quicker than I expected.
I believe that today's lifestyle is lacking in venues for "regular" people to stretch there physical and emotional comfort zones. Sure athletes have plenty of opportunities, but this event has the potential for others to get a taste of what is possible. I think that is why it is so intriguing to the media and to the public in general. By presenting it in a more non-threatening way I believe that the participation will escalate.
Sincerely - Glen Turner

Congrats on setting the new EME record!
Sorry I didn’t get to rejoin you … family obligations.
So you must have done around 80 loops?
Hope your recovery is going well…..

Hi Ulli,
My brother Henry and I really enjoyed the event.
I cannot say that I have any criticism. I think maybe during the briefing it might be good to advise people of the potential of hecklers the first night and how we should positively handle the situation.
It might be nice to get a yearly patch with a walker on it to sew on our vests and see how many walks we participate in. I like that we all can get the group photo for our memory books.( By the way the pictures on the web are awesome.)
I think charging a registration fee would be good since there will probably be more entries next year with all the publicity the event got after the walk and being the number one group in the world.
I think it would be neat to get sponsors or companies to sponsor teams in their work places.
Maybe we can all get together later in the summer maybe at my house or in the mall in Boulder.
These are just some random thoughts. Say hi to your
wife. She is so sweet.
