Dear Ulli and Traudl,
Thank you again for putting on such a well organized and friendly event. I can truly say it was fun the entire time. Seeing the photos at the site brought back so many wonderful memories.
I know some people will look at 31:20 as a long time to complete a 100 miles (101.2). However, it was intermixed with some fun stops at restaurants. Think I actually gained a pound or two with all the good food and Traudl's sandwiches. Also people may think walking on concrete at 4 mph is a snap, but it is just as hard if not harder than running a trail in the Sierra's.
I enjoyed that the course almost never repeated itsself, always a new sight over the next hill or around the corner. One of my biggest thrills was actually seeing a beaver in the South Platte River at 5:00 a.m. in the morning.
We were very lucky to have such a great group of strong walkers. The dynamics were wonderful and no one ever complained even though we all had our challenges. It was a fantastic feeling to cross the finish line with us all holding hands.
A special thanks also to Joel Jenkins who generously tended to our feet.
See you next year at the Cafe to Cafe 150. - Sincerely, Eric Poulsen
